Lisa of BLACKPINK apologizes over 10th-anniversary controversy
Lisa of BLACKPINK has issued an apology to fans following controversy surrounding the group’s 10th anniversary celebrations. She becomes the third member of the group to address the issue, following previous statements from Jisoo and Rosé.
The controversy stems from fan dissatisfaction regarding the scale of the anniversary activities. While the group marked their decade since debuting on August 8, 2016, with a small-scale Meet & Greet for 40 selected fans and an 11-minute livestream, many supporters felt the preparations were insufficient for such a milestone. Criticism intensified after details regarding the gifts provided to attendees circulated online.
In a message posted to a fan communication platform, Lisa expressed her sadness over the situation, stating, “I’m really sorry that things turned out this way.” She noted that she shared the fans' disappointment, adding, “It should have been a special moment and a time of celebration for all of us.” Lisa clarified that her intent was not to justify the circumstances or argue her side, but to express her appreciation for the bond shared with the fandom, known as BLINK.
