Lisa of BLACKPINK faces social media scrutiny and discusses solo career

BLACKPINK member Lisa is facing social media scrutiny following the resurfacing of a video from the Chinese survival show ‘Youth With You Season 3’. In the clip, Lisa and other judges are seen laughing while a trainee, Rimiko, appears to be visibly trembling due to anxiety during an interview. Critics on platforms like X have accused the singer of being insensitive to the contestant’s mental state.

Supporters of Lisa argue the footage is being taken out of context. They contend that when the episode originally aired in 2020, the production intended the segment to be lighthearted, and that her reaction was not meant to be malicious.

Separately, Lisa has discussed the personal challenges of transitioning to a solo career. In an interview with Variety, she expressed that she initially felt “a little bit scared” when navigating her career without the structured guidance of her group. She noted that the hiatus taken by BLACKPINK was necessary to avoid burnout caused by relentless touring schedules.
