Lisa Su and Jensen Huang join Trump and Xi at White House dinner

During a White House state dinner hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump for Chinese President Xi Jinping, two prominent technology executives of Taiwanese origin were seated at the same table as both world leaders.

Lisa Su, CEO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, both share origins in Tainan, Taiwan. Their presence at the table alongside leaders like Elon Musk and Tim Cook highlights the intersection of global semiconductor leadership and sensitive geopolitical relations between the United States, China, and Taiwan.

Lisa Su, who moved to the United States at age three, holds a PhD from MIT and has held leadership roles at companies including Texas Instruments and IBM. Jensen Huang also emigrated from Taiwan to the United States as a child and co-founded Nvidia following a career in microprocessor design.
