La Libertad Avanza names Lisandro Catalán as Tucumán gubernatorial candidate

La Libertad Avanza (LLA) has officially launched its campaign for the 2027 provincial elections in Tucumán by announcing Lisandro Catalán as its gubernatorial candidate. Catalán, the current president of the party in Tucumán and former national Minister of the Interior, presented a government program titled ‘Punto de partida para la libertad de los tucumanos’ during an event at the Hotel Catalinas Park.

The proposed platform includes structural reforms such as reducing the provincial cabinet from nine ministries to four, digitizing the state, and limiting the Legislature's budget to 1% of provincial spending. Economic proposals focus on a progressive reduction of taxes on the productive sector and a ‘Shock Plan’ for the initial days of a potential administration. Electoral reforms suggested include the adoption of the ‘Boleta Única de Papel’ and the elimination of ‘acoples’ and communes.

Simultaneously, political negotiations are underway between LLA and the PRO party to build an electoral front for 2027. Cristian Ritondo, head of the PRO block in the Chamber of Deputies, stated that the PRO intends to maintain its leadership in districts where it currently governs, marking a key point of discussion in the potential alliance.
