Lisbon City Council cancels Fontes Pereira de Melo infrastructure project

The Lisbon City Council (CML) has announced that it will not proceed with a planned infrastructure project on Fontes Pereira de Melo Avenue. The project intended to create a narrow shared space for pedestrians and cyclists to resolve conflicts between unidirectional bike lanes and bus stops.

The municipality clarified that the intervention, which would have involved removing sections of the bike lane, sidewalk, and two trees, will not be executed. CML noted that no proposal was submitted to the public tender launched through the municipal mobility company, EMEL.
