Lisbon hosts major padel tournaments as sport grows in Portugal

Padel is seeing significant growth in Portugal, highlighted by major upcoming tournaments in Lisbon. The Lisboa Racket Centre, owned by Cristiano Ronaldo, is hosting the FIP Silver Lisboa Racket Centre by AVA CR7 alongside the 2nd Open Lisboa Racket Centre by AVA CR7, a competition from the Portuguese Padel Federation. The event aims to bridge the gap between amateur and professional players, with the complex expected to host between 10,000 and 15,000 spectators throughout the week.

Additionally, Carlsberg has announced the Carlsberg Social Cup 2026, scheduled to take place in Lisbon from September 4 to 6 at the Clube de Padel Lisboa. The tournament is part of a broader strategy to engage with the growing community of padel players through a series of 20 scheduled competitions throughout the year.
