Lisbon INATEL swimming pools reopening delayed to 2027

The reopening of the INATEL swimming pools at the Estádio 1.º de Maio sports complex in Lisbon has been delayed until the first half of 2027. Although a previous reopening date was set for late 2026, the administration of the Fundação INATEL stated that the timeline must be extended to accommodate additional improvements.

In addition to the original pool renovations, the current works include upgrading the gymnasium, installing a new air conditioning system, adding an elevator for accessibility, and implementing new security measures throughout the building. These additional works are budgeted at 600,000 euros. The facility has been closed for renovations since June 2023, with total investments reaching approximately 1.7 million euros.
