Lisbon ranked as the world's happiest holiday destination

Lisbon has been named the happiest city in the world for vacations according to the Holiday Happiness Index released by BookRetreats. The ranking, which analyzed 47 cities globally, placed the Portuguese capital ahead of other major destinations such as Helsinki, Orlando, and Athens.

The study evaluated destinations based on five equally weighted factors designed to promote well-being: sun exposure, sleep quality, healthy food options, contact with nature, and the ease of physical exercise through walking. Lisbon secured the top position due to its balanced combination of these elements, rather than excelling in just one specific category.
