Lisbon region sees three imported measles cases
The Direção-Geral da Saúde (DGS) has confirmed three imported cases of measles in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region since October 6. The cases involve an adult, a child, and an infant under one year of age.
According to health authorities, the individuals had recently traveled to countries with high measles incidence and had no recorded history of vaccination. There is currently no evidence suggesting the cases are linked to one another.
None of the patients are currently hospitalized; those who required medical admission have already been discharged. Health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations, and in one instance, family members of an unvaccinated individual were vaccinated to prevent further spread.
