Lisbon resumes affordable housing program for youth

The Lisbon City Council has resumed its ‘De Volta ao Bairro’ affordable rent program, conducting a lottery for 25 housing units aimed at residents up to 35 years old. The initiative is designed to help young people return to the historic neighborhoods where they grew up.

The program had previously been suspended for three months following an external audit that identified ‘fragilities’ in the digital platform used for the selection process. While the Public Ministry is currently analyzing the lottery procedures, officials from the City Council clarified that the suspension was not mandated by any judicial order.
