Lisbon Ripper podcast adapted into immersive theatre

The investigative podcast ‘A Caça ao Estripador de Lisboa’ is being adapted into an immersive theatre production. Based on the true story of a series of unsolved murders in Portugal between 1992 and 1993, the show aims to place the audience directly within the police and journalistic investigation.

Produced by Kilt and based on the Observador podcast, the production will take place at the Hindu Community of Portugal in the Lumiar/Telheiras area of Lisbon. The performance will utilize a 1,500-square-meter space featuring 12 different scenarios. The cast includes ten actors portraying 20 characters, including victims and suspects.

The show is scheduled to run from October 28 until December 26, with sessions held from Thursday to Saturday at 21:00. While the script is based on factual investigative journalism, it serves as a complement to the podcast rather than a direct replacement.
