Lisbon Stock Exchange Gains as Oil Prices React to US‑Iran Meeting
The Lisbon stock market rose in mid‑session, gaining about 0.40% in one report and 0.29% in another. Leading gainers differed: Jerónimo Martins (+2.02%), Sonae (+1.23%) and Ibersol (+1.04%) topped the first update, while REN (+1.44%), Navigator (+1.41%) and CTT (+1.15%) led the second. Several other Portuguese stocks traded in the green, though a few, such as Jerónimo Martins in the later snapshot, slipped.
Oil prices moved sharply after President Donald Trump confirmed a U.S.‑Iran meeting. Brent crude fell more than 5% to around $83.45 per barrel in the first bulletin, while a subsequent note recorded a modest rise of 0.81% to $84.45. European indices were mixed but largely positive, with Germany’s DAX, France’s CAC 40 and the UK’s FTSE 100 posting gains.
