Lisbon to host ASI Best Sommelier of the World competition

The 18th edition of the ASI Best Sommelier of the World competition is scheduled to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from October 11 to 17. The event will feature 66 experts from 66 different countries competing for the title.

Participants will be evaluated on technical skills, including blind tastings of wines and spirits, service complexity, and the ability to harmonize various beverages with different dishes. Beyond technical knowledge, the competition emphasizes hospitality and the human connection, testing how sommeliers use their expertise to enhance the customer experience.
