Lisbon to host international maritime and port industry events

Lisbon will host the CIDIS 2026 conference on October 19 and 20, bringing together government officials, business leaders, and maritime experts to discuss the future of the port sector. Organized by Logistel and the Católica Porto School of Business and Economics, the event will take place at the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) auditorium.

The opening session features high-level representatives, including Portugal’s Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, the Ministers of Transport from Cabo Verde and Mozambique, and Spain’s Secretary-General of Air and Maritime Transport. Discussions will focus on port strategy, circular economy, decarbonization, artificial intelligence, and maritime security.

In a related development for the maritime workforce, MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys will participate in the Blue Careers and Employment Fair in Lisbon on October 15, 2026. The fair targets professionals in the blue economy, including cruise operations, port logistics, naval construction, and ocean renewable energy.
