Lisbon–Madeira route ranked among Europe's most stressful flights

A new study by AirAdvisor has identified the Lisbon–Madeira flight route as the fourth most stressful air route in Europe. Scoring 61.4 points on a 100-point scale, the route is characterized by issues with operational predictability. Approximately 7.43% of flights on this route experience delays exceeding one hour, with an average delay duration of 110 minutes.

In separate travel industry news, the operator Teresa Perez reported a 57% increase in sales for African destinations between January and September 2026 compared to the previous year. Passenger numbers for these destinations rose by 24%. The growth is primarily concentrated in safari tourism regions across East and Southern Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa. CEO Tomás Perez attributed this surge to increased air connectivity and seat availability.
