Lisette Oropesa performs Spanish and Cuban songs at Salzburg Festival

Soprano Lisette Oropesa performed a recital of Spanish and Cuban vocal music at the Salzburg Festival in the Haus für Mozart. Accompanied by pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre, the program featured Zarzuelas and works by composers including Enrique Granados, Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, and Joaquín Rodrigo.

The repertoire also included Cuban compositions by Joaquín Nin, Ernesto Lecuona, Eduardo Sánchez de Fuentes, Jorge Anckermann, and Gonzalo Roig. The performance highlighted Oropesa’s technical skill and her ability to navigate between lightheartedness and dramatic melancholy through music rooted in her heritage.
