Lismore landslip restoration reaches 10-site milestone

Flood recovery efforts in Lismore have reached a new milestone with the successful repair of 10 landslips. This progress is part of the Lismore Landslip Restoration Package, representing a $14.5 million investment jointly funded by the Albanese and Minns Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

The program is one of the most complex road infrastructure recovery projects in the Local Government Area, addressing more than 60 landslip sites identified following the 2022 disasters. To date, crews have removed over 1,000 tonnes of debris and replaced it with engineered rockfill to stabilize hillsides and rebuild road foundations.

Lismore City Council is delivering the program in partnership with contractor CMC Hull JV. Completed repairs are located on Oakey Creek Road, Mountain Top Road, Stony Chute Road, and Wyrallah Road. Construction on the remaining sites is scheduled to continue in stages through late 2027.
