Liszt Academy and University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna renew ties
The Kodály Institute in Kecskemét, part of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, and the Kodály Institute Vienna (KIW) have initiated a series of collaborative programs to strengthen institutional ties with the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW).
A three-part course focusing on Zoltán Kodály’s music education concepts and relative solmisation in choral practice has been established. Following an initial session in October, subsequent rounds are scheduled for November 2026 and January 2027. These courses will be hosted at the MDW, the Anton Bruckner Institute, and the Collegium Hungaricum Wien.
Additionally, students and faculty from the Church Music Department conducted a study trip to Vienna from October 20 to 22. The visit included organ and choral conducting classes led by professors Balázs Szabó and Manuel Shuen, as well as explorations of historic 17th- and 18th-century organs in Viennese churches. The trip concluded with a public Vespers service held in the chapel of the Hofburg Imperial Palace.
