Liszt Academy's Chinese Center Opens in Beijing

On 28 July 2026, the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music inaugurated its new Chinese Center in Beijing’s Central Business District, within the Digital Economic Innovation Hub. The opening ceremony was attended by academy rector Dr. Gábor Farkas, leaders of Beijing IE Street Holdings Co., Ltd., and officials from both Hungary and China.

Dr. Farkas and the Beijing IE Street Holdings chief signed a strategic partnership to develop joint music‑education programmes, cultural exchanges, master‑classes, competitions and professional development for teachers and emerging artists. Speakers – including Yao Wang of the Asian Education Forum, Zhao Jinbo of the Lao‑se Literary and Art Foundation, Miao Yingwei, Dudás Mandula of the Hungarian Cultural Center in Beijing, Qi Yue and Xie Longfei – highlighted the long‑standing Hungarian‑Chinese cultural ties and the centre’s role in fostering higher‑level musical training and collaboration.

The centre will support talent nurturing, curriculum collaboration, concert activity and related cultural projects, aiming to deepen bilateral artistic cooperation and create new opportunities for young musicians and educators in both countries.
