Litecoin shows technical strength amid network expansion

Litecoin (LTC) is showing signs of technical strength following a bounce off a long-term support level. Analysts note that the asset has defended an eight-year ascending support trendline, with some predicting a potential rally toward the $500 to $1,000 range, potentially driven by the April 2027 halving event.

On the technical front, LTC has recently found demand around the $44 mark. While momentum indicators like the RSI and MACD are showing improvement, the price faces significant resistance. Key hurdles include the 50-EMA near $62.61 and the 200-EMA near $80.56. Breaking the 200-EMA could signal a more meaningful recovery toward the $100 level, though the asset remains within a descending triangle pattern.

In terms of network utility, the Litecoin Foundation reported that its layer-2 scaling solution, LitecoinVM, has surpassed 250 million transactions on its Liteforge testnet. This development aims to expand the network's capabilities into programmable applications and decentralized finance.
