Literary and storytelling workshops expand community engagement

Various cultural institutions are hosting literary and storytelling workshops to foster community engagement with literature.

In Ibiza, the Biblioteca Pública Insular is hosting an ‘Introduction to Narrative Language’ workshop led by award-winning writer José Morella. Running from October 5 to 9, the program is designed for adults interested in fiction writing. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises, focusing on character construction, narrative structure, and point of view through the analysis of contemporary works.

In the Valparaíso Region, the Ziento un Cuento company successfully concluded its 2026 training season, which saw over 150 participants across three free programs funded by the Ministry of Cultures. These initiatives included an oral storytelling workshop at the Santiago Severín Library and a reading mediation school at the Artequin Museum. The programs aimed to provide tools for storytelling and building literary communities.
