Literary awards announced in Zurich and Laufenburg

The Canton of Zurich has announced its annual literary awards and contributions for authors and translators residing in the canton. Notable recipients include Marie Glassl for her German translation of Alice Ceresa’s ‘Die verlorene Tochter’, and Annette Hug for her translation of Lualhati Bautista’s novel ‘Die 70er’.

In a separate cultural initiative, the cities of Laufenburg, Baden (Germany) and Laufenburg (Switzerland) have opened applications for the Burgschreiber scholarship. Running from March 1 to May 31, 2027, the program supports German-speaking authors from Switzerland and the EU. The scholarship provides a monthly living allowance of 950 euros and free accommodation, split between six weeks in Germany and six weeks in Switzerland to promote cross-border cultural exchange.
