Latin American literary events and educational writing programs

Various cultural and literary events are taking place across Latin America. In Argentina, Irene Cuevas will present her poetry collection ‘Entonces soñé’ at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, a work aimed at promoting inclusion for people with disabilities. Additionally, the ‘Una foto, mil historias’ school literary contest in San Rafael is entering its third edition, using historical photographs as creative prompts while strictly prohibiting the use of artificial intelligence.

In Uruguay, the ‘Llego y te cuento’ writing contest, organized by the Universidad de la República, is bringing published student works to high schools in Tacuarembó and Paysandú. Meanwhile, Pedro Bordaberry is presenting his book about Benito Nardone in Salto.

Other notable activities include the launch of ‘Charlas Magistrales’ in Chile, celebrating the 80th anniversary of Gabriela Mistral’s Nobel Prize, and the ‘Cuéntame tu Cuento Escolar 2027’ program in Guatemala, which helps students become published authors through Editorial Piedrasanta. In Spain, Casilda Sánchez Varela is presenting her essay ‘A veces nadie’ in Cádiz.
