Regional literary events and book promotions held across the Balkans

Various literary and cultural events are taking place across the Balkan region. In Serbia, NIN award winner Darko Tuševljaković is promoting his books ‘Jaz’ and ‘Hangar za snove’ at the Delfi SKC bookstore.

In Croatia, the ‘Month of the Croatian Book’ is being observed through multiple initiatives. In Ogulin, Gordana Blažević Salopek gave a travel lecture on the Himalayas. In Vinkovci, the program focuses on scientific and popular science literature. Additionally, in Split and Hvar, authors Rosie Kugli and Magdalena Mrčela are presenting a project titled ‘Book as a Bridge to Mental Health,’ which uses literature to raise awareness about youth mental health, peer violence, and addiction.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šaćir Filandra presented his book ‘Moj zavičaj u svjetskoj povijesti’ in Vareš, marking the 33rd anniversary of crimes against Bosniaks in Stupni Do and Vareš. Meanwhile, in Tuzla, Ljiljana Haidar Diab is promoting ‘Ožiljci bez rana,’ which explores human fates and the consequences of war.

Other regional activities include a children's literature marathon at Delfi SKC and a volunteer project involving students from Valpovo working at the Belišće library.
