Literary events scheduled for La Méridienne anniversary and Sara Bernède book signing

Several literary events are scheduled for late September. In La Chaux-de-Fonds, the bookstore La Méridienne will celebrate its 30th anniversary on September 19. The event features the four women who took over the business in January 2025: Alizé Treyvaud, Agathe Baumont, Elodie Olson-Coons, and Pascale Hess. The celebration includes a look at historic bookstores and a presentation of Elodie Olson-Coons’ first book.

In Châteaubriant, France, the independent bookstore La Liste de mes envies will host journalist and author Sara Bernède on September 26. Bernède will present her debut novel, ‘Le silence de la honte’ (The Silence of Shame), published by Éditions Les Chantuseries. The novel, which explores family secrets and historical investigation, will be available for signing during morning and afternoon sessions.
