Literary festivals and book fairs held in Hungary and Romania
The PécsLIT literary festival is scheduled to take place in Pécs, Hungary, from September 7 to September 12. The event features over thirty programs, including author-reader meetings, discussions, readings, and book launches. Notable participating authors include Attila Bartis, Zsófia Bán, György Dragomán, Rita Halász, Péter P. Müller, György Spiró, and Anna Terék. The festival will be hosted at various locations, including the Tudásközpont, the House of Arts and Literature (MIH), and the Szabadkikötő venue. In Romania, the BookMar Book Fair was held as part of the 25th Partiumi Magyar Napok (PMN) in Kossuth-kert from August 21 to August 23. Organized by the Szatmárért Association and the Multicural Department of the Szatmár County Library, the event included author meetings with Imola Fehér, Petra Finy, and Ádám Rényi. The program offered diverse activities such as workshops for teenagers and children, musical performances, and a Silent Book Party in collaboration with Cărturești. The fair concluded with a musical performance by Zoltán Beck and Krisztián Grecsó.
