Literary festivals and book fairs scheduled in Croatia and Czech Republic

Various literary events are scheduled across Europe, focusing on science and community engagement. In Prelog, Croatia, the Month of the Croatian Book will run from October 15 to November 15, 2026. Under the slogan ‘From Stories to Discoveries’, the program focuses on natural sciences and science popularization. Activities include STEM-themed exhibitions, lectures on mythology, and science-based storytelling for various age groups, ranging from preschoolers to seniors.

In Havlíčkův Brod, the 36th Autumn Book Fair is set to take place on October 16 and 17. This year's event features a record 158 exhibitors and nearly 100 authors, illustrators, and translators. The fair includes competitions for the most beautiful books in the Vysočina region and for children's literature. Additionally, Senate President Miloš Vystrčil is scheduled to select a winning book from a list of nominees in a ceremony held at the Vysočina Regional Library.
