Literary festivals held in Tetovo and Peja promote regional culture

Regional cultural activities are seeing a resurgence through significant literary festivals in Tetovo and Peja.

In Tetovo, the 30th jubilee edition of the “Ditët e Naimit” International Poetry Festival is scheduled to begin on October 15 at the Culture Center. The event aims to bring together poets from across the globe to foster cultural cooperation and provide a platform for artistic expression in a city currently facing a shortage of cultural programming. Festival director Shaip Emërllahu noted that the event serves as a vital pillar for maintaining the city's identity.

Meanwhile, the “Peja” Literature Festival recently concluded in Peja, running from October 6 to 10. Organized by the Municipality of Peja, the event featured authors and poets from Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. The festival emphasized regional cooperation, specifically linking Peja with Ulcinj through the participation of writer Gazmend Çitaku. Highlights included book promotions, poetry readings, and the presentation of the “Azem Shkreli” Literary Prize to academic Ali Aliu.
