Literary festivals scheduled in Ipswich and Moreton Bay

Various literary festivals are scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom and Australia this autumn.

In Ipswich, the Schools Week initiative of the Ipswich Book Festival will begin on September 28. The program aims to reach approximately 4,000 children across more than 40 schools, featuring visits from children's authors and illustrators to promote reading and creativity. The initiative coincides with the National Year of Reading.

In Australia, the Island Storytellers Festival will run from October 3 to 5 across the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. Supported by Creative Australia, the festival utilizes the MV Kurrowera as a roaming venue between Lamb Island, Coochiemudlo, and North Stradbroke Island. The event features a mix of national authors, workshops, and historical storytelling, including discussions on local history and crime fiction.
