Literary works on philosophy and war crimes promoted in Tuzla and Zadar
Several literary works are being promoted in the Balkan region. In Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian Cultural Center of Tuzla Canton presented the first Bosnian translation of Leo Tolstoy’s “The Path to Life”. Translated by Resul Mehmedović and published as a joint edition by Dialogos and the BKC TK, the book is a collection of Tolstoy’s reflections on life, death, morality, and spirituality.
In Zadar, Croatia, the Girolamo Luxardo Italian Community announced the promotion of “Weekend Snipers” (I cecchini del weekend) by Italian journalist Ezio Gavazzeni. The book details an investigation into the “Sarajevo safari,” a practice during the Siege of Sarajevo where wealthy foreigners allegedly paid to shoot at unprotected civilians. The event is scheduled for October 12, 2026, at the University of Zadar.
