Literature and poetry events held in Bogotá and Guayaquil

Cultural initiatives are utilizing literature to engage citizens in Bogotá and Guayaquil. In Bogotá, the Micrófono Abierto event will take place at the Gabriel García Márquez – El Tunal Public Library on September 26, 2026. This session is part of the Reverso Bogotá 2026 festival, organized by the District Secretariat of Culture, Recreation and Sport and BibloRed. The event allows poets and writers to share their work in two-minute segments and will feature Federico Díaz-Granados as the jury president.

In Guayaquil, the “Voces del Bosque” talk was held during the International Book Fair to promote environmental awareness. Organized by the Municipality of Guayaquil through the General Directorate of Environment, the event featured winners of the “Cuenta el Bosque” micro-story contest. Participants shared creative works focused on biodiversity and conservation, aiming to use narrative as a tool for ecological reflection among youth and the general public.
