Literature awards announced for Bastia Umbra and Città di Arce

The 49th edition of the Premio Insula Romana is scheduled to conclude on November 29 at the Centro Umbriafiere in Bastia Umbra, Italy. The event will feature nearly 300 poetry entries from across the country. Writer Dacia Maraini will attend the ceremony to personally receive the Premio Cultura 2026.

A significant section of this year's competition is dedicated to unpublished poetry honoring the bicentennial of Carlo Collodi's birth. Submissions were evaluated by a technical jury and a popular jury, with the latter's evaluation taking place at the local auditorium.

Separately, the seventh edition of the Città di Arce International Literature Prize will hold its award ceremony on October 29 at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. Organized by the Arcanum et Fregellae cultural association, the competition reached a record 320 participants from Italy and abroad. The prize covers various categories, including published fiction, unpublished poetry, short stories, and poetry for peace.
