Literature events in Chile and Spain address migration and foster care

In Chile, Teresa Alarcón Aguirre, a teacher from the Escuela José de San Martín, participated in the presentation of the children's book ‘La mejor casa del mundo’ at the Universidad de Chile. The work, created by Megan Ryburn and Maite Morales, uses embroidery as an artistic element to tell stories of migration and motherhood experienced by Latin American women. The event highlights the importance of cultural inclusion and diversity within educational communities.

In Spain, the Palencia Book Fair is hosting a storytelling session to raise awareness about family foster care. Actress Violeta Ollauri will narrate a story by Candela García Retamosa to help children and adults understand the reality of minors who cannot live with their biological families. The initiative is coordinated by the Junta de Castilla y León's Family Foster Care Service in collaboration with the Red Cross, aiming to promote stable emotional environments for protected minors.
