Literature reviews of The Expanse and Le Duel

The Expanse, a science fiction book series written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck under the pseudonym James S. A. Corey, explores a future where humanity has expanded throughout the solar system. The setting features geopolitical tensions between the United Nations of Earth, the Martian government, and the Belt Alliance, a political organization seeking independence for the inhabitants of the asteroid belt and moons.

Le Duel, a graphic novel published by Éditions Soleil, is written by Jean-Pierre Pécau with art by Antonio Marinetti. Set in 19th-century Strasbourg during the Napoleonic era, the story follows two lieutenants, Armand d’Hubert and Gabriel Féraud, who engage in a decade-long series of duels. The narrative, adapted from a Joseph Conrad short story, examines how a minor offense can evolve into a lifelong obsession with honor.
