Litespeed introduces Pisgah titanium trail hardtail
Litespeed, a Chattanooga, Tennessee-based manufacturer, has introduced the Pisgah, a new titanium hardtail mountain bike designed for aggressive trail riding. While the original Pisgah model launched in 2000 was oriented toward cross-country riding, this new iteration features 150mm of travel and geometry specifically engineered for demanding, rocky, and rooty terrain.
The frame utilizes a new titanium tubeset called Superform X, which uses custom-formed, cold-worked 3D shapes and variable wall thicknesses to balance strength, flex, and stiffness. The design includes a unique rear-end construction featuring a Tubular Titanium Yoke and a seat tube that passes through a pierced, ovalized top tube. This engineering approach reportedly allows for a 30% reduction in wall thickness at the joint while simultaneously increasing mechanical strength and resistance to vertical and lateral loads.
