Litfiba celebrates 40th anniversary of '17 Re' with concerts in Naples and Cosenza

Italian rock band Litfiba marked the 40th anniversary of their landmark album 17 Re with two major concerts in southern Italy. At Naples' Arena Flegrea the group performed the album in its entirety, backed by front‑man Piero Pelù’s spoken reflections on peace, war and politics. The setlist moved from aggressive tracks such as “Come un Dio” to the album’s more introspective pieces, concluding with the title track “Resta.”

A second show took place at the Be Alternative Festival in Cosenza’s historic Rendano arena. The performance again featured the full album and the original lineup – Pelù, guitarist Ghigo Renzulli, keyboardist Antonio Aiazzi, bassist Gianni Maroccolo and drummer Daniele Trambusti. Between songs Pelù warned, “Noi uomini abbiamo creato la cosa più schifosa sulla faccia della terra, cioè la guerra,” expanding the concert into a platform for social commentary, including references to the arms lobby and recent Italian tragedies. Both events were billed as part of the “Quarant’anni di 17 Re” tour, combining music with a renewed political message.
