Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries expand with USB-C charging options

Companies are expanding their offerings of rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries in AA and AAA formats as alternatives to single-use alkaline batteries.

Hama has introduced a new range of Lithium-ion batteries that includes a specialized charging and storage box. The system can charge up to eight batteries simultaneously, featuring individual slot control that automatically detects and excludes defective or non-rechargeable cells. The charging process is managed via USB-C, with a full charge taking approximately two to two and a half hours. The set includes a magnetic storage case and safety features such as temperature shutdown and reverse polarity protection.

MediaRange is offering a set of four AAA Lithium-ion batteries through Amazon. These batteries feature integrated charging electronics, allowing them to be charged directly via a USB-C port located on the battery itself. The set includes a 4-to-1 charging cable for simultaneous charging. These batteries maintain a nominal voltage of 1.5V, making them compatible with devices designed for standard alkaline cells, and are rated for up to 1,200 charging cycles.
