Lithium Region authorities coordinate training and employment agenda
Labor authorities from the Argentine provinces of Catamarca, Salta, and Jujuy met in Catamarca to establish a shared agenda for the Lithium Region. The assembly, organized by the Tripartite Commission for Equal Opportunities (CTIO), focused on strengthening cooperation regarding training, employment, inclusion, and local development.
Key participants included Catamarca’s Minister of Education and Labor Verónica Soria, Jujuy’s Minister of Government, Justice, Labor and Human Rights Normando Álvarez García, and Salta’s Secretary of Labor Alfredo Batule. The International Labour Organization (ILO) also participated to discuss the challenges of employment and training linked to mining activities.
During the meeting, Catamarca presented its Labor Training and Development Campus model, which integrates education with production to meet real-world company demands. The goal is to ensure that the growth of the mining sector translates into lasting local skills and increased job opportunities for regional communities.
