Lithuania assesses damage following Cyclone Felicia
Following the passage of Cyclone Felicia through Lithuania, experts are providing guidance on assessing and managing property damage. The storm brought wind gusts of 24–26 m/s to the coast, causing damage to trees and vehicles, and leaving approximately 2,200 ESO customers without electricity in the Klaipėda and Kaunas regions.
Safety precautions are advised, including waiting for winds to fully subside before inspecting properties to avoid falling branches or electrical hazards. Insurance provider If recommends checking basements and technical rooms for moisture or water ingress, as leaks may only become apparent days after the storm. Homeowners are urged to inspect wall joints, floor corners, and pipe inlets for signs of dampness.
