Lithuania basketball defeats Michigan Wolverines in warm-up match

The Lithuanian men’s national basketball team concluded its preparation for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers with a 96:84 victory over the University of Michigan Wolverines in Vilnius. Despite a slow start where the NCAA champions established a 56:44 lead by halftime, Lithuania mounted a significant comeback in the third quarter.

Led by coach Rimas Kurtinaitis, the team improved its defensive intensity and rebounding control. Augustas Marčiulionis provided a critical momentum shift by scoring eight consecutive points in the third quarter. Ąžuolas Tubelis led the scoring for Lithuania with 31 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Marčiulionis added 17 points.

This win follows two previous losses in preparation matches: a 108:110 defeat to Estonia and a 74:88 loss to the University of Arizona Wildcats. The victory marks a successful conclusion to the team's warm-up series.
