Lithuania coach warns of tougher Azerbaijan challenge

Lithuania national football team head coach Edgaras Yankauskas has expressed respect for their upcoming UEFA Nations League opponent, Azerbaijan, describing them as a more powerful and technical side than their previous opponent, Liechtenstein.

Yankauskas noted that while the match against Liechtenstein required fewer resources, the upcoming fixture will demand greater strength and speed. He highlighted that the Azerbaijani squad includes internationally experienced players competing in the UEFA Champions League.

Regarding squad management, Yankauskas confirmed there will be changes to the lineup, noting that Pius Širvys will be unavailable due to injury. The coach emphasized the importance of maintaining intensity through substitutions and utilizing the team's strengths in set pieces and rapid counter-attacks. He also mentioned the possibility of meeting Sabah FC coach Valdas Dambrauskas during the trip to Baku.
