Lithuania expands Culture Pass to include preschool children
Starting this September, Lithuania’s Culture Pass program will expand to include preschool-aged children for the first time. The Ministry of Culture announced that following an expert evaluation of 1,876 applications, 1,347 new educational and cultural activities have been added to the program's offerings.
With these additions, the total selection of activities available through the Culture Pass now exceeds 5,800 options. These include services related to museums, theaters, music, literature, cinema, ethnic culture, architecture, and design. The program, which began in 2018, currently reaches nearly 380,000 recipients.
For the current year, approximately 5.2 million euros have been allocated to the program, an increase of nearly 1.2 million euros compared to last year. Experts evaluated the new proposals based on their ability to foster creativity and critical thinking, as well as their accessibility for individuals with disabilities. For the new preschool demographic, 645 specific applications were evaluated.
