Lithuanian firefighters issue safety warnings for Halloween attractions

As Halloween attractions and horror parks open across Lithuania, the Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD) has issued safety guidelines for both organizers and visitors. Aurelija Maslauskienė, head of the PAGD Prevention Organization Department, emphasized that while the goal of these events is to create a sense of surprise and fear, safety must remain the priority.

Firefighters highlighted several critical risks associated with themed entertainment spaces, including obscured or blocked emergency exits caused by decorations or layout changes. They also warned against the use of highly flammable decorative materials placed near heat sources, improper electrical installations such as overloaded extension cords, and unattended open flames like candles in pumpkins.

Organizers are urged to plan for rapid evacuation and ensure staff are trained to handle emergencies in dark, smoke-filled, or labyrinthine environments to ensure that decorations and crowds do not impede rescue efforts.
