Lithuania holds Constitution Day exam and celebrates 34th anniversary
Lithuania is observing Constitution Day, marking 34 years since the nation's citizens approved the Constitution via referendum on October 25, 1992. The document establishes that sovereignty belongs to the Nation, which can exercise supreme power either directly through referendums or via elected representatives.
To promote civic engagement and legal literacy, the Ministry of Justice has launched an online Constitution exam. The initiative, open to all citizens including students, legal professionals, and Lithuanians living abroad, allows participants to test their knowledge of their rights and duties. Winners in various categories, such as students and legal experts, are eligible for prizes including tablets, e-readers, and a special award established by President Gitanas Nausėda.
