Lithuania initiates road repairs on A1 highway and regional routes

Lithuania is undertaking several road infrastructure projects to improve safety and maintenance. Via Lietuva has commenced simple repairs on a 1.134 km section of the Kaišiadorys–Žasliai road (No. 1809). The project, valued at 445,000 euros, involves renewing worn asphalt, fixing ruts and cracks, and updating road markings and safety elements in the Žasliai town area. The works are being carried out by AB Kauno tiltai.

Additionally, simple repair works are beginning on the A1 Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda highway near Elektrėnai. This phase focuses on a 10 km stretch on the Kaunas–Vilnius side. The broader project aims to repair a total of 26.56 km of road and one bridge to address surface defects and extend the road's service life. Traffic restrictions are expected to begin in late June, with construction starting in early July.

Separately, a plan to adjust the protection zones for state roads in the Skuodas district has been submitted to the Minister of Transport and Communications for approval.
