Lithuania: Land tax declarations for 2026 prepared

The State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) has prepared land tax declarations for 2026. Private land owners, including both individuals and legal entities, must complete their payments by November 16.

Approximately 817,000 residents are expected to pay a total of 53.7 million euros, while 19,000 companies are projected to pay 11.7 million euros, bringing the total expected revenue to 65.4 million euros. This is an increase from the approximately 61 million euros calculated for 2025.

Some landowners may notice higher tax amounts due to updates by the Center of Registers, which recalculated the areas of surface water body protection strips based on actual measurements. Other tax values remain consistent with the 2023–2027 period.

Declarations can be reviewed via the Electronic Declaration System (EDS) or the ‘Mano VMI’ platform. For those not using electronic services, paper declarations are being sent by mail and are expected to arrive by November 3.
