Lithuania launches free psychological and legal support for teachers
The Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport has launched ‘Mokytojų linija’ (Teachers' Line), a new initiative providing free psychological and legal assistance to educators. The program is designed to support teacher well-being and retention by addressing professional stress, burnout, and complex interpersonal or legal situations.
Psychological support is available anonymously via telephone. Professional psychologists will provide four hours of consultation per workday, covering topics such as stress, anxiety, professional burnout, violence, bullying, and interpersonal relationships.
Legal assistance will be provided remotely or in writing by professional lawyers. To access legal aid, educators must register through an online form on the Teachers' Line website. The ministry has emphasized that full confidentiality will be guaranteed for all participants. The National Education Agency (NŠA) is responsible for coordinating the program's activities.
