Lithuania leads EU in cloud computing adoption and digital tools
Digital transformation in Lithuania is being driven by the increasing adoption of cloud computing and electronic signatures. In the business sector, cloud computing has transitioned from a technological alternative to a core infrastructure component. Lithuania has seen the fastest growth in cloud service usage within the European Union, with an increase of 19.7 percentage points between 2023 and 2025.
Simultaneously, electronic signatures are becoming essential for digital workflows. Under the EU eIDAS regulation, a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) holds the same legal weight as a handwritten signature. Modern solutions like Smart-ID and mobile signatures allow users to authenticate documents via smartphones without the need for specialized hardware or complex software.
