Lithuania Ministry of Social Security reminds citizens of heating compensation eligibility

The Lithuanian Ministry of Social Security and Labour (SADM) has issued a reminder regarding housing heating compensation as the new heating season begins. Citizens can use a specialized online calculator to determine their eligibility for subsidies.

Compensation is available to residents regardless of their heating method, including centralized systems, electricity, gas, wood, or other fuels. To streamline the process, residents only need to submit a single application to cover the entire heating season.

According to SADM, approximately 165,000 people received monthly heating compensation during the 2025-2026 season, with total expenditures amounting to roughly 69 million euros. For the 2026-2027 season, the ministry projects that approximately 171,000 people will receive aid, with costs potentially rising to 94 million euros if heat prices increase by 20-30 percent.
