Lithuania Opens Upgraded Oncology Day Station at Šiauliai Hospital

An updated oncology clinic day station for chemotherapy was officially opened at the Republican Šiauliai Hospital in northern Lithuania. The €1.2 million investment creates a modern treatment space that improves accessibility, comfort and privacy for patients while providing contemporary working conditions for medical staff.

The ceremony was attended by Health Minister Linas Kukuraitis, who said, “This is symbolic, it is my first official visit as health minister,” and by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Domas Griškevičius, who highlighted the joint effort of the ministry, hospital and local authorities. Hospital director Darius Praninskas and oncology clinic head Vaida Vaitiekaitytė also participated, underscoring the regional benefit for residents of Šiauliai and the broader northern Lithuania area.
